After collecting and going through all the evaluations, I'd have to say my students were very kind. On a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being low and 5 high, the majority of selections were 4s and 5s. Many student's commented that I didn't need to do anything to improve. This is a good thing, but of course, this being my first real practicum experience, I did in fact have a lot to grow and improve upon. However, I was surprised that on a few of the surveys that I was only given a 2 or 3 to the question asking - Mrs. Leafloor listens and understands students' point of view; she may not agree, but students feel understood. I know I can't be perfect, but this rating got to me. I hope to be a little more conscious of this element when I enter into my PSII.
I wanted to get student feedback of my teaching performance to add to my Teacher Associate and University Consultant comments. After all they were one's most affected my this experience. I had my Teacher Associates, Mrs. Andreas and Mrs. Cowie work through the survey with the students. I didn't want to be present while they were doing the evaluations because I wanted answers to be honest and not influenced by my immediate presence.
