Thank you Burdett School!
Mrs. Andreas, Mrs. Cowie and our students surprised us with a little going away party on our last day of PSI. It felt great to be recognized for our efforts here at Burdett school. It will be weird not having to come back to the school tomorrow. I will miss the wonderful staff and students from Burdett school (and the short commute each day)!
Thank you Burdett School!

As a farewell gesture to our students, Tina and I made some elf treats. I had found the idea on Pintrest but it, of course, did not work perfectly as described in the pin the first couple tries. After some adjusting we had a system figured out and a few (more like 5) hours later we had all our elves ready to go for our students.
I wanted to get student feedback of my teaching performance to add to my Teacher Associate and University Consultant comments. After all they were one's most affected my this experience. I had my Teacher Associates, Mrs. Andreas and Mrs. Cowie work through the survey with the students. I didn't want to be present while they were doing the evaluations because I wanted answers to be honest and not influenced by my immediate presence. After collecting and going through all the evaluations, I'd have to say my students were very kind. On a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being low and 5 high, the majority of selections were 4s and 5s. Many student's commented that I didn't need to do anything to improve. This is a good thing, but of course, this being my first real practicum experience, I did in fact have a lot to grow and improve upon. However, I was surprised that on a few of the surveys that I was only given a 2 or 3 to the question asking - Mrs. Leafloor listens and understands students' point of view; she may not agree, but students feel understood. I know I can't be perfect, but this rating got to me. I hope to be a little more conscious of this element when I enter into my PSII. |
